"Appleton, James Lamar, 2404 Gilmer Ave., died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in a Williamsburg, Va., hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, from the First Methodist Church with Dr. Paul Duffey officiating. Burial will be in the Friendship Methodist Church Cemetery, Titus, Ala. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Frances Suggs Appleton, Montgomery; two daughters, Mrs. Luther Voltz, New York City, N.Y., Mrs. R. L. Cramer, Lafayette, Colo.; son, James Lamar Appleton Jr., Calif.' step-daughter, Mrs. Terry H. Taylor III, Montgomery; a step-son, Thomas W. Sewell, Montgomery, one sister, Mrs. Ernest P. Garrett, Tuscumbia, Ala.' three brothers, dr. Shelton Appleton, Albertville, Ala., W. H. Appleton, Atlanta, Ga., B. W. Appleton, Collinsville, Ala.; 14 grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Thomas Appleton, Lamar Long, Timothy Appleton, Thomas Appleton, Stanley Appleton, Ernest Garrett Jr."
