Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon, March 15, at the New Chapel Methodist Church for W.W. Patterson of Okolona. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Patterson, 85, died at his home on Tuesday night. Rev. Luther Gibson conducted. Berry Funeral Home of Okolona was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Patterson's wife preceeded him to the grave by about 20 years. She was the former Miss Bettie Anderson. Mr. Patterson, born at Pleasant Site, Ala., had lived for many years at Shannon, New Chapel, Evergreen and Okolona. He was a member of the Shannon Methodist Church.

He leaves the following children: Miss Lola Patterson, Miss Gertie Patterson, Miss Effie Patterson, Mrs. Lora Burt, Mrs. Susie Rifers, Mrs. Annie Ellis and Mrs. Ania Stegall, all of Okolona; Mrs. Lucy Springer of Memphis, Robert Patterson and Raymond Patterson of Okolona.

He also leaves 25 grand children and 15 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Temple of Nettleton and Mrs. Maggie Blanton of Brewer and two brothers, A.J. Patterson of New Chapel and Charlie Patterson of Texas.
