Mrs. Apple, 91, of Gainesboro, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Masters Health Care Center in Algood, Tennessee. She was a homemaker and member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church.
She was born May 20, 1919, in Jackson County, Tennessee, to the late Sidney Ragland and Sarah Ann Kirby Ragland.
On August 13, 1936, she was married to the late John Homer Apple, who passed away March 29, 2007. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Homer Apple; parents, Sidney Ragland and Sarah Ann Kirby Ragland; one granddaughter, Jane Apple Barlow; seven brothers, Bedford, Vernon, Savage, Verble, Lester, Cordell and Guy Ragland; sisters, Bessie Brown and Ethel Brown.
Survivors include: sons, Ted Apple of Nashville, Jimmie Apple of Gainesboro, and Ray (Jeri) Apple of White, Ga.; daughters, Peggy (Leroy) Mackie of Cookeville and Patty Apple Barlow of Lebanon; 13 grandchildren, Melinda Anderson, Jennifer Kossman, Emily Brown, Susanne Lee, Tim Barlow, Lucinda Barlow, Terry Apple, Chris Apple, Melanie Burd, John and Mark Apple, Stephanie Apple and Jeffrey Apple; brother, Thurman Ragland of Michigan; sisters, Nell Barton of Kentucky, Elise Huff of Tennessee, and Bobbye Williams of Tennessee; 18 great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
