Helen Elizabeth Elkner, was the wife of Henry W. Elkner, Sr., the daughter of Kenneth Armacost and Wilhelmina (Still) Armacost, sister of Katherine Armacost and mother to William Harrison Elkner and Fonda (Norwood) Quade pictured here with her. Her ancestry includes the Carrol County Armacosts, going back to Christoph Armacost who settled in Maryland in the very early 1700's. Though she had long departed, she would eventually be grandmother to David William Hiroto Elkner and Ethan William Haruto Elkner. She died at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD from complications of "malignant brain tumor", July 4, 1957. She is remembered most for the persistent void she left behind.
