Ruth K. Bryson, 86, of 335 N. Prince St., Lancaster, died Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.

Born October 15, 1920 in Lancaster, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Gertrude V. Plank Kendig.

Ms. Bryson retired from Wyeth Laboratories where she had been employed for over 25 years. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity and had volunteered at the Visiting Nurses Association and for Meals on Wheels. She enjoyed reading and crocheting.

Surviving are two sons, John K., husband of Ann Esbenshade Bryson, of Manheim, and James D. Bryson of Lancaster; two daughters, Suzanne B., wife of Daniel Sigman, and Deborah J., wife of Terry Miller, both of Lancaster; four grandchildren, John, Jr., Laura, Michael, and Mark; a great-grandchild, Toby; a half-brother, Dennis R. Kendig of Lancaster; and a half-sister, Kathleen, wife of Donald G. Herr, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Bryson; a sister, Helen G. Shultz; and by a half-brother, Donald A. Kendig.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, from 2-4 p.m. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ms. Bryson's memory may be made to the Visiting Nurse Association, 1811 Olde Homestead Lane, Lancaster, PA 17605-0788 or to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, 31 South Duke St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
