Obituary in The State, Columbia, SC, 19 Nov 2010: Chapin - Funeral services for Eula Evelyn Derrick Amick, 98, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Reverend Larry Haggerty will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2010 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church, 215 St. Thomas Church Road, Chapin, SC 29036. Mrs. Amick was born July 11, 1912 in Chapin, SC and passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2010. She was a daughter of the late James Wilbur Derrick and Orelia Annabell Bickley Derrick. Mrs. Amick was a life-long member of St. Thomas Evangelical Lutheran Church. Mrs. Amick is survived by her daughter, Deborah Morell; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Sue Amick; sons-in-law, Joseph L. Shealy and Glenn Huffstetler; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was predeceased by her husband, Coy R. Amick; children, Daniel Jennings Amick, Evelyn Bonnelle Shealy and Audrey Marlene Huffstetler; grandson, Marcus; great-grandson, Danny and nine brothers and sisters. The family would like to extend special thanks to Generations of Chapin, Gentiva Hospice and Harmony Hospice.
