Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Rev. Del Lape will be officiating. Interment will be at St. Bonaventure Cemetery in Columbus, with military honors by Hartman Post #84 American Legion Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, with a 7 p.m. vigil, at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Visitation continues Friday, from 8-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Edward L. Krzycki was born Jan. 25, 1910, in Platte County, to Frank and Mary (Duranski) Krzycki. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII from March 1942-Nov. 1945, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. On June 10, 1947, Edward was united in marriage to Theresa Czapla at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Duncan. He was a farmer, worked as a brakeman for U.P. Railroad and was employed at Behlen Manufacturing for 22 years.
Edward was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Hartman Post #84 American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, working outdoors, and lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. Ed loved being with his family and will be deeply missed and remembered.
He is survived by his daughter, Marie (Darryl) Keith, of Silver Creek; daughter, Cynthia (Joseph) Zuerlein, of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren, Deborah Keith, Dawn Keith-Landkamer, Gregory Keith, Jeff Zuerlein, Ashley Zuerlein, Nathan Zuerlein, Torry Zuerlein; twelve great-grandchildren, Austin Feik, Brandon, Brittany and Courtney Landkamer, Elizabeth, Tabitha, Samantha, Logan, Nicholas and Kyle Keith, Levi and Cooper Zuerlein.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Krzycki; father, Frank Krzycki; mother, Mary Krzycki; five sisters; and three brothers.
