Obituary
Funeral services were held Friday, November 6, 2009 at a 1:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Carencro for Calvin "Lye" Joseph Albarado, age 65, who passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 7:58 p.m. at Meadowbrook Specialty Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.

Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be Just A Closer Walk With Thee, Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art, On Eagle's Wings, and I Will Go See You One Day.

Mr. Albarado was a native of Rayne and a resident of Carencro for most of his life. He loved fishing. Mr. Albarado was a Saints fan and a fan of Nascar. He was a parishioner of St. Peter Catholic Church in Carencro.

Survivors include his wife of forty-two years, the former Jacqueline Chiasson of Carencro; four sons, Stephen Albarado and his wife, Peggy, of Vatican, Terry Albarado and his wife, Michelle, of Lafayette; Todd Albarado and his wife, Laurie, of Mire and Tommy Albarado and his companion, Mikalyn Berthelot, of Arnaudville; five grandchildren, Paige Albarado, Stephanie Albarado, Jake Albarado, Nicholas Albarado and Hayden Albarado; and two sisters, Geralynn "Toni" Guidry and Donna "Gail" Savoie and her husband, Elmer, all of Lafayette.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alduce Albarado and the former Murphy Sonnier; one brother, Justin "Bob" Sonnier; one brother in law, Alvin Guidry; and one sister, Lydia "Poulet" Dejean.

A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home by Noreen Breaux.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Friday.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Albarado, Terry Albarado, Todd Albarado, Tommy Albarado, Jake Albarado and Josh Chiasson. Honorary pallbearers will be John Bordelon and Elmer Savoie.

Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Ave., Carencro was in charge of arrangements.
