AIKEN - Mrs. Marilyn Ruth Droddy Adcock, 71, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at First Baptist Church, Aiken, with the Reverend Dr. Fred Andrea III officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Fountain, Paul Adcock, Ray Anthony Adcock, Michael Kirk and Khristian Kirk, Michael George.
Mrs. Adcock was born in Lafayette, LA, a daughter of the late Ocie and Evelyn Franklin Droddy. She moved to the Aiken area in 2006. Before moving here, she was a math teacher in the Monroe City School District, Monroe, LA. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Aiken, and sang in the church choir.
Survivors include her three sons, David Ray (Pamela) Adcock, Greenville, SC, Daniel Keith (Tess) Adcock, West Columbia, SC, Timothy Cole Adcock, Aiken; six grandchildren, Robert Adcock, Ray Anthony Adcock, Paul Adcock, Danielle Grace Adcock, April Adcock and Michael Adcock; three sisters, Mildred Ritter, Plano, TX, Jenny Bass, Austin, TX, Dorothy Fountain, Pass Christian, MS.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Ray Don Adcock, and a grandson, Mathew Adcock.
