Mrs. Emile Arthaud died at the home of her daughter, Mrs Lelia Vanscoy, at 10 o'clock last Wednesday night. The cause of Mrs. Arthaud's death was a sudden attack of stomach and bowel trouble which came on Tuesday evening about 5 o'clock. She had been in her usual health up to that time and was exceedingly well preserved and free from pain for one so aged.

Susanne Ebersole was born in France, February 10, 1823. At the age of four she came to America with her parents and settled in Pennsylvania where she lived for two years, when she removed to Canada. In the year 1810 she was married to Emile Arthaud, who preceded her in death nineteen years ago, having died January 24, 1887. In 1851 she and her husband removed to Iowa where she resided in Washington and Henry counties until her end.

She was the mother of fifteen children, of whom ten are still living. They are Chris of Oklahoma, Leo in Dallas County, this state, Ben in O'Brien County, Joe and Frank L., lawyers in Chillicothe, Missouri; Dr. Dan of Washington, Enos of Milford, Nebraska, and John of near Chilicothie, Missouri, and Mrs. Lena Vanscoy of this town and Mrs. Anderson of east of Olds. Leo, Ben, Joseph, Frank, Dan, and the two sisters attended the funeral. Besides these children there are 43 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren to mourn her loss. She lived to the ripe old age of 83 years, 1 month, and 11 days. Funeral services at the Eicher church on Friday by Rev. S.M. Musselman, assisted by Revs. Graber and Stuckey.
