Davenport - Funeral services and a Celebration of the Life of Florence Heitman Blumer, a resident of Davenport, will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the All Faith Chapel of the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. If you would like to attend the burial, please meet at the funeral home Monday at 1 p.m. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Blumer died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2003, at ManorCare Health Center, Davenport, following a brief illness.

Florence Margaret Potter was born Sept. 26, 1914, in Rock Island, a daughter of Hershel E. and Florence (Golf) Potter. She was united in marriage to L. Cal Heitman in Rock Island in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1957. She then married Carl Meyer Jr. in Moline in 1958. He preceded her in death in 1971. She married Alan Blumer in 1977 in Rock Island.

In earlier years she had worked for the Fashion Shop in Rock Island and for Petersen Harned Von Maur. Florence was a former longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church, Rock Island. She was an avid collector of dolls. Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice.

Survivors include her husband, Alan; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Nancy Heitman, Bettendorf, Gary and Carol Heitman, Davenport, and Mike and Mary Kay Heitman, Surprise, Ariz.; a stepdaughter and her spouse, Vickie and Bob Warren, Panama City Beach, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Martha Potter. In addition to her husbands and parents, brothers, Earl Edward Potter and Lester Potter, preceded her in death.
