Mrs. Hiatt was born on April 27, 1928 in Madison County to the late Cecil and Sallie Bowling Tipton. She was a former cafeteria worker at Whitehall Elementary School, a former 4-H leader and member of the Band Boosters at Madison Central High School. She was a member of the Big Hill Ave. Christian Church and the Ruby Maggard Circle.
Survivors include a son: Charles M. Hiatt (Dee) of Lexington; one daughter: Marsha H. Maupin (Dan) of Richmond; her step-sister: Brenda Tipton Rose (Rodney) of Richmond and a sister-in-law: Mary A. Tabeling of Cincinnati, OH; three grandchildren: Sabra Darby of Estero, FL, Michael D. Hiatt of Virginia Beach, VA and Jessica Leary (James) of Louisville, KY; one great grandchild: Daniel Trace Darby and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service at the Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home with Dr. Virgil Grant officiating. Burial will follow in the Madison Co. Memorial Gardens. Visitation at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Tim Burns, Allen Burns, Lafe Carmine, Leroy Murphy, Rodney Rose, Kenney Johns and Tommy Masters.
