Peter Anderson was born on 15 Jan 1867 in Bording, Ringkobing Amt, Denmark to Anders Christensen and Elise Johanne Petersen, the first of five children from the marriage. Following the death of his father in 1881, reportedly while saving the life of Christian IX, king of Denmark, the family emigrated from Hestlund, Denmark to Concord, Massachusetts to which her mother's sister and family had previously emigrated in the 1870's. Peter Anderson drowned in the waters around Concord, Massachusetts on 28 July 1885 and was buried in an unmarked grave in the Concord Sleepy Hollow Cemetery.
