Dora is the daughter of Louis Lars Long and Anna Belander Long, both emigrants from Sweden who had married September 21, 1887, in Isanti Co., Sweden.
Following the tragic death of Dora's mother and brother in 1893 she was raised by Andrew and Lena Nelson, growing up in Isanti County.
Joe and Dora were married on January 15, 1914, in Duluth, Minnesota. The couple had four children, Jessie, Gordon, Milton and Donald.
They farmed at Farm Island Twp., Aitkin Co., on the farm where Joe had grown up.
Joe passed away in 1953. Dora eventually went to California to live, where Gordon and Jessie were already living. This is where she passed away in 1966.
