1850 U.S. Census Marlborough, MA - 30 year old JOHN H. MAYNARD and wife CATHERINE [HAGER] MAYNARD, with 2 daughters "ABBA" E. MAYNARD [EASTMAN] age 6 and LOUISA MAYNARD [BALDWIN] age 3. Also there is 48 year old AARON MAYNARD. Both men are "wheelwrights".

1860 U.S. Census Haverhill, MA - 41 year old JOHN H. MAYNARD and 40 year old, occupation, "Trader." Wife CATE [STOW] MAYNARD, with 4 daughters- ABBY E. MAYNARD [EASTMAN] 16, LOUISA V. MAYNARD [BALDWIN] 13, OCEAN V. MAYNARD 9, and VESTA V. MAYNARD [JOHNSTON] age 5. There appear to be five boarders living with them as well.

1865 May - State Census Marlborough, MA. All born in MA. JOHN H. MAYNARD age 47, farmer. Wife CATHERINE H. [STOWE] MAYNARD age 46. Children: LOUISE V. MAYNARD [BALDWIN] 18; OCEAN V. MAYNARD 13; VESTA V. MAYNARD [JOHNSTON] 9; & a son VILA V. MAYNARD age 2 months. Plus there are 2 Canadian shoemakers boarding with them, 1 of whom is illiterate.

[Confusing Entry below - for the death of a 1 year & 4 month old female, Viola V. Maynard to the same parents. But we have this same exact death date on the gravestone as the death of their 4 year & 1 month old male, Vila V. (Victor) Maynard. Plus the mother Catherine said in the 1900 Census that she had 5 children with 3 living; Vila and Ocean having died by 1900. Perhaps the "1" and the "4" were transposed from the boy's age of "4" and "1" month? And perhaps an "O" was added to make the boy's name into the girl's name of "VIOLA"? ]

[FRANKLIN] EASTMAN, age 22, born in Salem, MA, residing in Melrose, occupation Expressman; parents: MOSES EASTMAN & SUSAN E. TREADWELL.

1880 U.S. Census Marlborough, MA - 62 year old farmer JOHN H. MAYNARD; and his 60 year old wife CATHERINE MAYNARD are living with their 25 year old daughter VESTA V. MAYNARD [JOHNSTON].
