Mrs. Jeff Ewing of Novelty Dead

Mrs. Jeff Ewing of Novelty was found dead in bed this morning. Funeral arrangements have not been made, pending the arrival of Mrs. Ewing's two daughters.

Funeral Services of Mrs. T. J. Ewing Were At Mt. Carmel Saturday Afternoon

The funeral services for Mrs. Minnie L. Ewing, of Novelty, widow of T. J. Ewing, and who was 69 years old, and who died last Thursday morning, were conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Mt. Carmel Methodist Church, southwest of Edina, by the Rev. Allen L. Vancil. Burial was in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Mrs. Ewing was found dead in bed at 5:30 o'clock in the morning, March 26 [sic], 1959, of a heart attack and her body was brought to Edina to the Hudson Funeral Home, where it remained until time for the services.

Surviving are two daughters, Pansy, Mrs. Clayton Mace, of East St. Louis, Ill., and Mrs. Bessie Gilliland of Quincy, and her step-father, John Webster, of Lewistown and eight grandchildren. Two of the grandchildren, Patricia Lou Hysell, 16, and Larry Dean Hysell, 11, have made their home with their grandmother since the death of their mother, Mrs. Mary Rose Hysell, who died Nov. 8, 1949. There survive also a sister, Mrs. Barbara Stewart, of Vicksburg, Miss., and a brother, Charles W. Heimer, of Newark.

As Minnie Lucretia Heimer, Mrs. Ewing was born May 29, 1889, at Louisiana, Mo., and she was a daughter of the late Edward and Clara Jane Morris Heimer. She was married at Edina Aug. 18, 1918, to Thomas Jefferson Ewing, who died March 3, 1927. They were the parents of three daughters mentioned.

Mrs. Ewing lived on a farm southwest of Edina and moved to Novelty thirty-one years ago.

Besides her husband and daughter, Mrs. Ewing, a member of the Mt. Carmel Church, was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Frances Harriet Morris and Mrs. Minerva Shafer, and two brothers Luther and Arthur Heimer.
