Guyton - Mrs. Myrtle Cook Flake, 77, entered into peaceful rest on April 1, 2004 at her home under the care of Hospice Savannah.

Originally from Bulloch County, Mrs. Flake had lived in Chatham County for approximately 30 years before moving to Effingham County fourteen years ago. She was a member of the Garden City Primitive Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee Roy and Joanna Cook of Bulloch County, infant son, and three brothers, Inman Cook, Lee Roy Cook Jr. and Eugene Cook.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Jesse Flake of Guyton; daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn and Ray Suddath of Columbus, Ga., Marsha and Richard Brown of Savannah and Jessica and John "Terry" Sauerland of Guyton; two sisters, Leiah Suddath; sister, Mary Jarriel; and a brother, Richard Flake.

Funeral: 11 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow in Middleground Church Cemetery in Bulloch County.
