William Boyd, was born in Tennessee, and as a calling followed the occupation of merchandising. He came to Texas in 1850, located at Rusk, and became one of the prominent business men of that place, died in 1894, one of its oldest citizens. The Boyds are of Scot-Irish lineage, and settled in this country during colonial days, in old Virginia.
