(Info. from Free Baptist Cyclopedia, pub. 1889, and Native Preachers in New Hampshire, and Ancestry Family Trees.)

OBITUARY:
"Elizabeth Burnham, widow of Elder Jesse Burnham, departed this life April 26 (1867), in Fulton , Wisconsin , at the house of her son-in-law, Hiram Harvey. She was born December 13, 1783, embraced religion at the age of ten, under the labors of Elder Jeremiah Ballard and united with the Free will Baptist Church in Nottingham , New Hampshire .
At the age of 23 she was married to Jesse Burnham and settled in Atkinson , Maine and from there some years afterward they moved to Mayfield, a dry and sterile district. She endured all the trials, self denial and sufferings that fell to the lot of the founders of our beloved Zion. In 1840 they removed to Janesville , Wisconsin. Here I found them in 1842. Never shall I forget the warm and motherly welcome she gave me at my first visit. They had already planted a church on Rock Prairie.
One of her last prayers was that God would not suffer the church planted by her husband to be flatted out. On Tuesday evening after family worship she retired to her room where she was heard to sing the Hymn commencing 'I would not live always'. A few hours after she received a shock of apoplexy in which she lingered like one asleep until Friday morning when she passed to the spirit land. She leaves two sons, three daughters and their families, a brother Rev. N. Harvey and numerous other friends East and West to mourn for a Mother in Israel .

Funeral services by the writer assisted by Rev. Mr. Roberts."From the History of Piscataquis County , Maine
