1845 with Captain Ferwald.

Contrary to what is engraved on the marker, the Spangenbergs ( Christoph, his wife, Elisabeth, and thier children: Julie, Heinrich, Spphie, Hermann, and Wilhelm) arrived in Glaveston in June of 1845 aboard the brig Johann Dethardt. By July 1845, the family was in New Braunfels. They were among the last group to enter New Braunfels as "first settlers".
