THOMAS. H. ASBE PASSED AWAY SUNDAY EVE
Body Will be Taken to Norway Township Cemetery South of Kanawha
Thos. H. Asbe, who had been ill and confined to Mercy hospital in Mason City for three weeks, died there Sunday evening. The Osman Chapel ambulance brought the body to Britt to prepare for burial and the funeral will be held Friday afternoon at First Lutheran church, the Rev. John Mohr, officiating. Burial will be in the Norway Township cemetery, south of Kanawha.

Mr. Asbe was born in Norway, Dec. 28, 1872, and left for America with his parents when only a few months old. The family settled in Story county, Iowa, and there Thomas grew to manhood. On March 23, 1895, he united in marriage with Nellie Danielson at Slater, lowa. Much of the life of departed was spent in Wright county, five miles south of Kanawha, but seventeen years ago he left that vicinity and "went to live on a farm northeast of Crystal Lake. Retiring from the farm he and his daughter Louise came to Britt to make their home on West Third street. They had lived there three years.

Mr. Asbe’s wife died in 1928. He Is survived by several children, brothers and sisters. Children are: Mrs. John Kalvig, Mason City; Mrs. Elmer Kalvig, Kanawha; Mrs. Thos. Lundy and Miss Louise Asbe at Britt. Two children, Henry and Joseph, preceded their father in death. There are two brothers, Anthon Asbe at Des Moines, and Bert Asbe 'in California; and seven sisters, Mrs. Lars Olson, Kanawha; Mrs. James Mehl, Eagle Grove; Mrs. Anna Wicks, Kanawha; Mrs. Joe Larson, Thompson; Mrs. Ida Hill, Waterloo; Mrs. Elmer Thorson, Mrs. Oscar Lien, Kanawha. There are 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
