MRS. C. NOBIS' FATHER DIES AT BARING, MO

Word has been received here of the death of Michael W. Kinney, prominent farmer of near Baring, Mo., who traded here and often visited in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Nobis. He was past 89 years old and old age was the cause of death. Mr. Kinney was born in Ireland and came to this country when 22 years old, locating in Scotland county. A few years later he moved to Baring and had been there ever since. He is survived by his widow and the following children, all of whom were at his bedside: Joseph and Margaret at home, William of Baring, John J., of Dennison, Texas, and Mrs. Nobis of Quincy. He also leaves 16 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A grandson, Leaton Nobis, left Saturday for Baring to attend the funeral which took place Monday morning in the Catholic church of which Mr. Kinney was a member.

PIONEER CITIZEN DEAD.

Michael Kinney Died at the Home Near Baring Last Friday.

—Michael Kinney, on of the very highly respected citizens of this county died at the home Friday, January 19. Funeral services were held Monday from the Church of St. Aloysius in Baring, conducted by the Rev. Fr. Mercer and interment made in the local cemetery.
—Mr. Kinney was born August 8, 1834, in County Mayo, Ireland. He came to America in 1845 and settled in Iowa. In 1874 he moved to Knox County and had lived here since that date.
—In 1854 he married Nancy Stinson and to the home came six children, two of whom died in infancy. His wife died in 1872 and in 1874 he married Mary Morley. To this union eight children were born, three of whom are living.
—Mr. Kinney was one of the oldest parishioners of the parish of St. Aloysius and was loved and esteemed by all.
—Those attending the funeral from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. John Kinney and Miss Margaret of Denison, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Nobis and Leaton of Quincy.

MIKE KINNEY DEAD AT 89

Paralysis Caused Death Friday—Lived Near Baring 48 Years.

—Michael Kinney, 89 years old, a native of Ireland but for forty-eight years a resident on his farm near Baring, died Friday at his home of paralysis after an illness of only a few days. Funeral services were held at 9:30 o'clock Monday morning at St. Aloysius Church in Baring by Rev. A. Mercer, and burial was in the cemetery there.
—He is survived by his wife and five children; Annie, Mrs. Charles Nobis, of Quincy; John Kinney of Dennison, Tex., William Kinney, who lives hear the home place, and Joe Kinney and Miss Margaret at home, nine grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren and a brother in Montana, the last of a family of eight boys, also survive.
—Mr. Kinney was born August 8, 1834, in Mayo County, Ireland, and he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Kinney. He was married in Ireland in 1854 to Miss Nancy Stinson, who died in 1872. They were the parents of six children, John and Mrs. Noblis only surviving, and Mary, Lizzie and two infants being dead. In 1874 Mr. Kinney married again, in Knox County, to Miss Mary Morley, who survives with three of their eight children, Joe, William and Miss Margaret.
—After his first marriage Mr. Kinney and his family came to Missouri and at first lived in Scotland County, from whence he moved to his present home in Knox County.
—Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nobis and son, Leaton, of Quincy and Mr. and Mrs. John Kinney and daughter Margaret, of Dennison, Tex., who came for the funeral, were here Tuesday afternoon, enroute home, and were guests of Mrs. Mary Hunolt, who with her son and daughter, Leo and Miss Marie Hunolt and Mrs. William Hildreth, also attended the funeral.
