Clifton L. "Tip" Sadler, 72. of Rushville. died Monday, April 22, 2002, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rushville.

Born May 18, 1929, in Henry County, he was the son of Adam L. and Mary (Wesley) Sadler, both deceased. On Feb, 13, 1975, he married Faith Bane; she survives.

Mr. Sadler lived most of his life in Rush County. He was a 1947 graduate of Raleigh High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in the Philippines. He had been a service station operator since the age of 18, having served as a manager for Shell, Gulf. and Marathon service stations. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. the Rushville American Legion. and the VFW.

Survivors in addition to his wife include four sons, Wendell C. Sadler of Stephenville. Texas, Timothy A. Sadler of Rushville, L Kent Sadler of Westport, and Eric Neil Sadler of Biloxi. Miss.; one stepson, Bruce Patterson of Hartford City; one brother, Linville Sadler of Falmouth; three sisters. Maureen Lewman of Dublin. Opal Hathaway of Deshler, Ohio. and Christina Barber of Falmouth; four grandsons; and two step• grandchildren.

Besides his parents. he was preceded in death by one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the First Southern Baptist Church in Rushville. with the Rev. Kenneth Bates officiating. Moster & Cox Mortuary in Rushville is in charge of arrangements. Burial, which will include graveside military rites, will follow in East Hill Cemetery in Rushville. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
