Lovie Lavelle Robinson Hammett, born July 8, 1920, was a life-long resident of Franklin Parish. Lovie departed this world for a better place with the Lord on September 14, 2007, while surrounded by her family who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM, Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the Lamar Baptist Church south of Delhi with Rev. Phillip Smith officiating.

Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Saturday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

Burial will be in the Delhi Masonic Cemetery.

Lovie was a pillar of strength to her family and devoted her life and love to her entire family, especially her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John M. Robinson, Sr. and Versie Johns Robinson; her brother John M. Robinson, Jr. and sister-in-law Billie Robinson.

Lovie is survived by her daughter Joy Hammett Ricci of Baton Rouge, LA; son Roy Hammett, Jr. and wife Liz of Monroe, LA; grandchildren Jeb Stuart Hammett, Staff Sergeant John Robinson Hammett and wife Mandy, and Marci Landry Blaize and husband Charles; great-grand daughter Abby Frances Blaize.

Also survived by, special loving nieces Cindy Robinson Williams and husband Toby and Susie Robinson Ezell and husband Gary; and other loved ones including great nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Staff Sergeant John Robinson Hammett, Jeb Stuart Hammett, Charles Blaize, Chad Nelson, Jamie Williams and Gary Ezell, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Allen Cupples, Toby Williams, Gary Ezell, Sr., Allen Ogden, Pat Walker and Joseph Grassi.

A special thanks to the staff of Christus St. Joseph's Assisted Living Facility in Monroe for their tender, loving care of our loved one. Our family extends a special thanks to Dr. Scott Irby, Dr. Dean Stockstill and Dr. Paul Grandon for their commitment and compassion.
