Mr. Leslie Alan (Bird) Smith, age 54, 3300 Maple Road, Lindale, passed away Tuesday evening, November 2, 2010 at a local hospital.
Mr. Smith was born in Floyd County on May 12, 1956, son of the late S. J. and Mary Lynn Frazier Smith. He attended Pepperell High School in Lindale and was employed for many years in the restaurant industry, having been employed for several years with Western Sizzlin here in Rome. Prior to his becoming disabled, he was employed with Sumo Japanese Restaurant. Mr. Smith was of the Christian faith.
Survivors include his brother, Mike Smith, and his wife, Glenda, Rome; cousins and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010 at 12 noon in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home on Friday from 10:30am until the service hour.
