Actress. The daughter of celebrated comedienne, Carol Burnett and producer Joe Hamilton, she studied music and acting at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and became an actress in 1985, with her role of 'Kathy' in the television movie "Love Lives On" (1985). She would show up in such roles as 'Reggie Higgins' in the television series, "Fame" (1986 to 1987), and in movies such as "Hostage" (1988), "Tokyo Pop" (1988), "Shag" (1989), "Checkered Flag" (1990) and "Cool World" (1992). She also made a number of guest appearances on such television shows as "The X Files", "Touched by an Angel", "Walker Texas Ranger", "Beverly Hills 90210", and "Murder She Wrote." During the late 1980s, she would speak publicly about her struggles with drug addiction and how she finally broke the habit, encouraging others to avoid drugs. In 2001, she won the Women in Film Award at the 2001 Latino Film Festival for her short film, "Lunchtime Thomas." She and her mother collaborated on a stage version of Carol Burnett's best selling autobiography, "One More Time," entitled "Hollywood Arms." Soon after her last film, "P.1" (1999), she was diagnosed with lung and brain cancer, and began extensive treatment. She died in the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California, in January 2002 of complications from the cancer.
