WINSTON SALEM, N.C. Peter Bernardi , 94, of Colonie, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 after a brief illness.
He was born in Watervliet and was the son of the late John Bernardi and Mary DeSalle. For the past few years, Peter lived with his granddaughter and family in North Carolina. Peter was employed for many years with New York State. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Rose Bernardi ; his siblings, Dominic, Joe, John, Rose Percanti, Angie Omilin and his twin sister, Mary Polaro. He is the father of Dolores Parker of Nashville, Tenn. and David Bernardi and his wife Wanda of Albany; brother of Louise Kusick of Watervliet; grandfather of Mark Sungelo, David Sungelo, Teresa Little, Christopher Parker, Charles Cooper, Sandra Cazasta and Sheri Paternico. Several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 11:00 at NewComer Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Avenue). A calling hour will precede the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
