Ginny was born to Hugh B. and Rebekah V. (Wilt) McClure. She married Edward A. Velpel on June 26, 1946, in Peoria. He passed away June 21, 2003, in Peoria.

She also was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgianna Wilson, Susan and Jean DeVore.

Survivors include two daughters, Carol (Steve) Wrigley of Peoria and Connie (Paul Dennis) Velpel of Washburn; four grandchildren, Jonathan (Kim) Wrigley of Peoria, Deborah (Greg) Bailey of West Peoria, Rebekah Weber of Peoria Heights and David (Melissa) Wrigley of East Peoria; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marietta (Cliff) Hanson of Peoria.

Ginny co-owned and operated, along with her family, H.B. McClure Manufacturing Company in Peoria.

She was a member of Arcadia Avenue Presbyterian Church in Peoria, and a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority at Bradley University.

Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
