Peter Carl was born in Sinz Rhein Provins, Germany, July 31, 1864. He passed away in Savannah, Mo., November 3, 1956, aged 92 years, 3 months and 2 days.

March 28, 1889, Mr. Carl was united in marriage to Anna M. Nittle in Sinz, Germany. They came to America for their honeymoon, settling in Momence township, Fillmore County, Nebraska. They lived in Nebraska all their life with the exception of one year spent in California.

To this union were born 10 children. Two sons passed away in infancy. Those who survive are John M. of Geneva; Otto M. of Sutton; Adolph A. of Omaha; Frank P. of Turlock, Cal.; Mrs. Helen Dirkson of North Hollywood, Cal; Mrs. William (Cecelia) Kenney of Savannah, Mo.; Mrs. Frances Donn of Westville, Ind.; Mrs. Leroy (Ann) Shockey of Van Nuys, Cal. Also surviving are 19 grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl retired from the farm in 1925 and made their home in Geneva. Mrs. Carl passed away April 23, 1940. Mr. Carl continued to make his home in Geneva until 1942, when he went to live with his daughter, Cecelia in Omaha. Later they moved to Savannah, Mo.

Rosary was recited at the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home Monday evening.

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, November 6, at St. Joseph Church in Geneva with Rev. Paul Ulenberg officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timothy Hourigan, Will Marson, Ed McCluskey, John Reinsch, John Walter and Carl Schneider.
