He has spent his last 40 years in Santa Fe, NM, where he lived with his wife, Telesfora "Taffy" (Tafoya); and raised four daughters.
The 32 years Benny spent as a school teacher in Santa Fe was only a small portion of his contribution as an educator. Upon his retirement, he used his gift of eloquence and his graceful use of both Spanish and English working as a certified court interpreter/translator, and has continued for the past 14 years to devote himself to interpreting all over the state of New Mexico.
Benny is survived by his wife, Telesfora "Taffy" (Tafoya); his daughters: Cynthia Duran, Carmilla Duran, Colleen Campbell and Celeste Duran; his siblings: Lala Archuleta, Ursula Gallegos, Stella Duran, Phyllis Cortez and Larry Duran; his grandchildren: Molly Bell, Ximena Montez, Dawn Campbell and Benjamin Campbell.
