BOND - Marjorie Ellen Bond graduated to be with her beloved husband, Raymond, June 20, 1987, at the age of 67. She was born June 16, 1920 in Reedsport, Oregon. In Seattle, Washington, on November 8, 1941, she was united in marriage to Raymond, who preceded her in death, July 4, 1984. She was a charter member of the Emerald Dog Obedience Club and the Eugene Kennel Club and was a lifetime member of the Kennel Club. She was a founder and early member of the Humane Society, and was life long advocate for animal rights. She was a member of the Eugene Daughters of the Nile, Nydia Temple of Portland, and a former member of the Eugene Zonta. She and her husband owned and operated the Bondale Cocker Kennels on the Century Farm which has been in the family for more than 150 years. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Debra Bond of Roseburg; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Rick Meador of Corvallis; granddaughters, Michelle Bond of Roseburg, Carrie and Kristin Meador of Corvallis; her mother, Doris Myers of Vancouver, WA; sisters, Dorothy Ekbald of Portland, Jeanne Kernan of Portland, Joan Battles of Albany, California. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John, and sister, Frances Mizell. Graveside services will be Friday, July 3, at 10 a.m. in West Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Dick Halaas officiating. Arrangements under the direction of ENGLAND'S EUGENE MEMORIAL CHAPEL, In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Oregon and Washington Citizen's for Humane Education, PO Box 863, Vancouver, WA 98668, an organization of caring for injured animals.
