Ann Holladay died on the day her husband lost the bulk of his fortune in the Panic of 1873. Originally buried in a vault beneath her Gothic-style chapel on the grounds of their home (Ophir Farm) near Purchase, New York. In 1919 her remains and those of 3 of the Holladay children were removed and reinterred in a vault at St. Mary's Cemetery by the later owners of Ophir Hall, Whitelaw and Elizabeth Reid.
