Mrs. Irene Yarbrough West, 82, died Saturday evening (October 23, 2010) at her residence after an extended illness.
She was a native of Pierce County, but she has lived most of her life in Waycross. She was the previous owner of West Drive-In and West Draperies. She was also a member of Central Baptist Church and the Dorcas Sunday School Class.
She is the daughter of the late Jesse L. Yarbrough and Annie Tuten Yarbrough. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles T. West.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond West (Audrey) of Waycross, and Tom West (Kathryn) of Nashville, TN; one daughter, Debra West (Jerry) of Hoboken; seven grandchildren, Melissa West of Savannah, Matt West of Waycross, Lea Huffaker (Matt) of Nashville, TN, Kristy Cunningham (Andy) of Nashville, TN, Casey West of Nashville, TN, Spring Parsons (Pete) of Collierville, TN, and Wendy Miller (Tommy) of Valdosta; seven great grandchildren, Zachary and Kailyn of Cunningham, Victoria and Stephanie Huffaker, Grace and Lily Parsons, and Madison Miller; special niece, Lavern Riley of Savannah; several other nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Drucilla Melton of Waycross.
A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday (October 26, 2010) at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Music Funeral Home.
