Celestine I. Bishop, 65, of 715 Tuttle Ave., Hamden, passed away Jan. 22, 2009 in Greenwich Hosp. after a long illness. She was the beloved wife of 45 years to Albert "DeeDee" Bishop. Born in New Haven May 27, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Carolyn Cross and Charles Simmons. Until her retirement, she held an executive position with IBM. Besides her husband, she is survived by her loving and devoted children, Cherae Bishop of Washington, D.C. and Chad Bishop of Clarksburg, MD.; daughter in law, Kim Bishop; granddaughter, Peyton Noelle Bishop; a sister, Frances C. Pullen of Hamden; two brothers, John Simmons of Los Angeles and Harold Simmons of Raleigh, N.C.; as well as several nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her step mother, Coreene Simmons; two brothers, Charles Simmons and Angelo Torello.
Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Martin dePorres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave. (cor Webster St.) New Haven Tuesday, Jan 27th at 10:30. Viewing prior to the Mass from 9:30 to 10:30. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery
