Michele Marie (Sampson) Finn was born March 17, 1953. She grew up in Richfield and graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels. In January, 1973 Michele enlisted in the Navy, was trained as a Russian linguist, and served for two and a half years in Spain. While stationed in Spain, she traveled extensively throughout the Europe of her childhood dreams. Upon returning to Minnesota, Michele trained as a RN, and used her diploma to help support her growing family. She simultaneously returned to school to pick up a degree in International Relations. In the end she settled on a career with Blue Cross-. Of that path she often said that it was not the career of her dreams, but it was a job that filled all her needs. As a bonus, it provided her the opportunity to work with a group of people who made it fun to be at work. While Michele often expressed reservations about parenthood, she put no qualifications on her love for her two sons, Kyle and Bryan. In recent years, that love was expanded as she added Courtney and two grandchildren, Aidan and Aubrey, to her brood. With her sister, Marsha, Michele shared stories, memories, complaints, and secrets that only sisters can share. With her husband, Mick, she mixed a deep curiosity about the whole world with a slight suspicion about the seriousness of any of it. In her final days, when reflecting on her life, she found that it had been all-good. As she put it, she bought a package, and it was a good package. Her regret was that she did not get enough of it. She leaves her thanks to the many who enriched her life, and a hope that she was able to enrich yours. Memorial Mass, 6:00 PM Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 4625 West 125th St Savage, MN. With memorial visitation from 4-6PM prior to Mass at church. Reception to fallow. In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the Alzheimer's Association PO Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011
