WOMAN SHOT, KILLED IN AFFRAY
Two men remained in satisfactory condition at Harris Hospital Saturday, after being wounded in a shooting which left one woman dead about 2:45 a.m at a South Side home.
Mrs. Frances Faye Coleman, who lived at the apartment at 5612 James Avenue, where the shooting took place, was dead on arrival at Harris Hospital with wounds in the head and chest.
Mr. George S. Coleman, 30, of 8308 Melrose W., her estranged husband, was being treated for a bullet wound to the abdomen. Edgar Ruben Winterstien, 24, of 201 Reever, Arlington, was admitted with wounds in the abdomen, arms and chest.
Policeman E. W. Lee said at least seven shots were fired in the affray, which apparently broke out after an argument.
Mrs. Coleman, a Ft. Worth native was a Polytechnic High School graduate, and a member of Polytechnic Methodist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Gary and Charles Coleman of the home; her father T. K. Harris, Jr. of Ft. Worth, Texas; and her mother, Mrs. Harold Coggins of Ft. Worth, Texas; and grandparents Mrs. C. W. Johnson and T. K Harris, Sr. of Brownswood.
Funeral services 2:00 p.m. Monday at Miessner Chapel, with burial in Rose Hill.
