Brooklet - Fred Bradford, 71, died Monday at his home in Brooklet after a short illness. He was a native of Fulton County and lived in Brooklet for the past 31 years. He was a veteran of World War II and was a graduate of the FBI Academy. After graduation from the academy, he served in the detective division of the Fulton County Police Department and retired with the rank of captain. He was a Shriner and was a member of Brooklet United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Juanita Jones Bradford of Brooklet; a son, Romaine Bradford of Statesboro; a sister, Mrs. Lorene Odum of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today at Brooklet United Methodist Church, with burial in Brooklet City Cemetery. Smith-Tillman Mortuary of Statesboro is in charge.
