Mariane Francis Cox, 89, passed away Oct. 9, 2010, in Portland.
Born June 1, 1921, in Tualatin to John and Blanche Stone, Mariane was raised in the Tualatin and Lake Grove areas, where her grandparents had farms during the 1800s. Mariane graduated from West Linn High School and married Lt. Earl R. Cox Oct. 2, 1943, in Portland.
Mariane is survived by her daughter, Susan Malmquist of Portland; grandsons, Christopher Malmquist (Andrea) of Olympia; Michael Malmquist of Dallas, Texas; Brian Cox of Lancaster, Va.; Avery and Michael Cox, both of Raleigh, N.C.; and great-grandchildren, Lucy and Luke Malmquist.
A family graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, in Willamette National Cemetery. A lunch and memorial gathering will follow from 1 to 3 p.m. at the home of Susan Malmquist.
