Services are Saturday at 10 a.m. at the St. Mary's Church. The Rev. Walter B. Helms will officiate. Beverly Weber is organist. Pallbearers are Bob Hearst, Larry Daufeldt, Albert Stecher, Gerald Stecher, Jerry Awbrey and Joe Stecher.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday afternoon and evening at the Riley Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
Mrs. Stecher was born May 8, 1893 in Cedar County, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Moylan McGee. Her marriage to Albert E. Stecher took place Jan. 10, 1911 in Muscatine. The couple farmed their entire married life in the Pleasant Prairie area and upon retirement in 1951 moved to Muscatine. She was a member of the St. Mary's Church.
Survivors include three sons, Raymond Stecher and Bernard Stecher, both of Durant; and Lyle Stecher, Muscatine; two daughters, Mrs. Allen (Alberta) Awbrey, Stockton; and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Daufeldt, Muscatine; 31 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 13,1963, one daughter, two sisters, nine brothers, one granddaughter and five great-grandsons. (Muscatine Journal, Muscatine, IA, Oct. 30, 1986)
