Bruce Brian Barnett, a retired Teacher and longtime Dorchester resident, died at Carney Hospital, Dorchester, Friday October 15, 2010. He was 62 years old. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools and Boston State Teacher College. Mr. Barnett was a Social Studies Teacher for over thirty years. He recently retired from the Roderick Elementary School, Wrentham. Bruce was an avid history buff. He built dioramas of World War II and participated in Civil War re-enactments. In this capacity, he served as an extra in the movie Glory. Son of the late Earl and Dorothy (Sullivan) Barnett. Brother of Noralie C, Dorothy M, and the late Lisa Barnett. Uncle of two nephews.. Bruce is also survived by his beloved Airedale Terrier "Hamish".
