Funeral services for Clarence M. Johnson, Independence, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Evanger Lutheran Church, town of Dover, the Rev. David Findec officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The son of Carl and Lena Wulff Johnson, he was born in the town of Gilmanton, Buffalo County, Oct. 16, 1895. He married Lulie Nyre at Osseo, Sept. 4. 1920. The couple farmed until he retired.

Survivors are his wife; two sons, Burton and Herbert, both of Aurora, Ill.; four daughters Mrs. Marcel (Lorraine) DeBel, St. Charles, Ill; Mrs. Leroy (Doris) Nelson, Eau Claire; Mrs. James (Evelyn) Cleveland, Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Richard (Corrine) Tomter, Aurara, Ill; 16 grandchildren; one brother Oscar Johnson, Blaire, and two sisters Mrs. Tina Stokmo, Kenyon, Minn., and Mrs. Martha Hovey, Badger, Iowa. One brother has died.

Friends may call at Kern Funeral Home after 1 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 2 p.m. today. Pastor David Rinden will officiate.
