Hazel Allison
Lisbon - Hazel L. Allison was united with the Lord on Thursday, April 8, 2010, after suffering from pulmonary fibrosis. Hazel was born Nov. 7, 1927 in Dungannon, Ohio, to Harvey and Clara Frantz. Hazel was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Salem. She retired from Family and Community Services of Columbiana County in 1997. She is survived by daughters, Wavelene Arnold of Salem and Laraine (Terry) Carman of Lisbon; grandchildren, Emily (Ryan) McMillan, Terry "T.J." Carman, Brad Carman and Lauren Arnold; siblings, Helen Harry, Dorothy Randolph, Mildred Strabala, Marjorie Bentz, Joe Frantz and Walter Frantz. Preceding Hazel in death were her husband, Walter L. Allison; her son-in-law, Robert Arnold, and siblings Ila Weaver, Mary Wilson, Arthur Frantz, Clarence Frantz and Leslie Frantz. Hazel was known as a charitable and generous member of her community. As her last act of giving, she chose to donate her body to the Northeast Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine in hopes that doctors and students may learn more about rare illnesses such as pulmonary fibrosis. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, at the First Presbyterian Church in Salem. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley at 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio. 44512.
