Obituary for LaVetta Avery
LaVetta May Kimmel Avery went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Oct. 12, 2010 at the age of 82. She was born March 20, 1928 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to her parents, George Merrill and Lois Belle (Davis) Kimmel. LaVetta had a professional career as an administrative assistant with the state, but relished being a mother to her daughter, Debbie, son, Craig and adopted son, David Ongtooguk. Later, her joy became her 9 grandchildren, multiplied exponentially by 12 great grandchildren. Her life-long prayer was that those "under the roof of her heart" would have faith in Jesus Christ, as Savior, exhibiting integrity, morality and love for one another—qualities exemplified by her. That love and concern for others produced daily talks with the Father, the results of which will be sorely missed!

She was preceded in death by her:
Parents;
Son, William Craig Avery;
Brother, Erwin Kimmel;
Sister, Retha June Kimmel.

She is survived by her:
Daughter, Debbie Harris and husband, Jay;
Son, David Ongtooguk;
Brother, Marvin Kimmel;
Sister, Altha Grizzle and husband, Bill;
Sister, Merrillyne Grooms and husband, Walt;
Daughter-in-law, Toni Avery;
9 Grandchildren: Gina, Treasure, Mistie, Raegan, Jessica, Janet, Jeremy, John and Ronni;
12 Great Grandchildren: Aleigh, Kylie, Abigail, Addison, Gabriel, Kelsey, Brenton, Colton, Max, Jessica, Kaitlyn and Rebecca.
