Car-Truck Smash At Rome Crossing Kills Local Youth
Carl M. Newell, a 20-year old newlywed of three weeks, 109½ North Seventh street, was instantly killed shortly after 7 a.m. last Friday when his car smashed into the rear of a gas truck at the Rome crossing south of town [Chillicothe].
Newell was an employee of the Hyster company in Peoria and was on his way to work when the accident happened. He had been married only three weeks.
