Caroline Elizabeth Collins is the daughter of Dr. John Collins and Elizabeth (Perkins) Collins. She died of tuberculosis in 1846. An excerpt from the Collins Family History (1936) by Fannie MacMunn describes her death as follows:

"This was an isolated case, as none of the kin contracted it from her. Her father never became reconciled to the loss of this favorite daughter, with the lovable disposition of her mother. Caroline died a few months after she contracted the disease, and her physician-father, being unable to cope with it, never ceased to grieve."
