Civil War Union Army Officer. Served as commander of Battery B, 1st New York Volunteer Light Artillery. He was killed repulsing Pickett's Charge on July 3, 1863, during the Battle of Gettysburg. His old headstone became weathered, and was replaced by a new one provided by the Irish Brigade Association.
