Centerville, Ind.-Nov. 28, Rites of the Grand Army of the Republic, the Women's Relief corps and Ladies of the G.A.R. will be conducted at 7:30 o'clock Monday night for Francis Emanuel Rodenberg. Civil War veteran, who died Saturday night at the home of a daughter, Mary Wright, here. He had been ill three months.
Funeral services for Comrade Rodenberg, whose death reduces the ranks of Sol Meredith post No. 55, G.A.R., to three members will be conducted Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Christian church in Abington. Interment will b e in the Abington Cemetery. Friends may call at the home in Centerville any time.
Mr. Rodenberg was the second member of the post to die this month, John Campbell's death occurring Nov. 18. Now only William (Uncle Billy) Mathews of Centerville, commander of the post, John Bellman and William C. Walls of Richmond, remain in the post which had a total of 684 members when it was instituted Mar. 27, 1882.
Mr. Rodenberg passes his ninety-fourth birthday last Aug 22. He was born in Wayne county the son of the late John and Marie Rodenberg. Surviving him are the daughter, a granddaughter, two grandsons, four great grandchildren and on great great grandchild.
