Mrs. Annie L. Taylor Gilliard, 84, died Saturday (February 25, 2012) at Satilla Care Center after an extended illness.
She lived most of her life in Dixie Union. She was a homemaker and lived on the family farm and loved to fish along the banks of the Satilla River. She was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Memorial Hospital in the laundry department.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Carswell Cuyler "C.C." Gilliard. She is the daughter of the late Isaac Foster "Ike" Taylor and Ally Eddie Harris Taylor. She is also preceded in death by her step-mother Maude King Taylor Waters Varnadore.
Survivors include 5 daughters, Jackie Peters (husband Darrell) of Wayne County, Ally "Dinky" Peace (husband Buddy) of Demorest, GA, Judy Lucas (husband Troy) of Dixie Union, GA, Marie Lucas (husband Timmy) of Dixie Union, GA, Jean Lyons (husband Marvin) of Dixie Union, GA; 20 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen Turner and Irene Hudson; two brothers, Danny Taylor and Joeboy Taylor; two step-brothers Raymond King and Bobby Crews; numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday (February 28, 2012) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Hephzibah Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Monday at Music Funeral Home.
