Thursday morning at an early hour, Emil, the second youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Arndt, of this city, breathed his last at the age of 19 years, after a long and lingering illness.
Deceased was born in this city and has resided with his parents ever since. He was for some years employed by the Boerner Bros. Co., and the past two years was engaged at the C.M. & St. P. Depot as an apprentice to learn telegraphing and station work. About a year ago he hurt his foot and since then has been unable to leave his home. A complication of diseases followed and several weeks ago his foot was amputated and hopes were entertained for his recovery. All that tender nursing and skillful medical treatment could do for him was done, but without avail. He was a bright, promising young man who was well liked by all that knew him.
He is survived by his parents, four brothers and one sister. The funeral which was one of the largest ever held at Emmanuel church took place Sunday afternoon. Rev. E.G. Strassburger conducted the last sad rites.
