Katherine Deana Johnson Eschler. Kay, Our beloved Wife, Mom, Grandma, YeYe, Great-Grandma and friend passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2004. She was born May 26, 1920 in Gem Valley, ID to Nels Leo and Nellie Vanden Akker Johnson.

She was sealed to M. J. Eschler in the Salt Lake Temple. To this union were born three children, Douglas J. (Cubby), Carol Ann (Sis), and Lee John.

A devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served faithfully in many capacities. She especially loved the YWMIA, where she served as a stake president for eight years. She loved and was loved by many young women, which lasted throughout her life.

She served missions with her husband to Jackson, MS, Rochester, NY, and Temple Square. For many years, she worked at Mormon Handicraft and loved being a hostess at the Beehive House.

She is survived by her husband, Max, daughter, Carol Ann (Lynn R) Cook, son, Lee (Brenda Jeppson) Eschler and 13 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and a sister, LaPriel Allred. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Dale Johnson, and her son, Douglas J. Eschler.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Wed., April 7, 2004, at the Rose Park 1st Ward, 760 N. 1200 West, SLC. There will be a viewing at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful on Tues., April 6, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. There will be a viewing 2 hours before the service from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Graveside services will held April 8, 2004, at the Montpelier Idaho Cemetery.
